In new-build facilities, it must be ensured that gases or viruses that are hazardous to health do not enter living areas through floor slabs, walls or ceilings. Barriers in the form of seals and building material layers of an adequate thickness must be provided to prevent transport of e.g. the radioactive noble gas radon from the subsoil via the areas that are in contact with the Earth. The convective transport of radon caused by differences in air pressure must be avoided by ensuring that connections, joints, openings, etc. are designed to be airtight.

Our EISEDICHT® GasSTOP airtight sealing collars consist of an elastomer specially developed for this application area with an aluminium butyl adhesive flange. The special aluminium butyl connection tape and the inner and outer corners ensure that your connections and joints are permanently and securely sealed. The GasSTOP airtight sealing collars, inner and outer corners and the aluminium butyl connection tape have been tested for radon resistance and can be used above or below floor slabs, walls or ceilings.
